League CPD event
On Wednesday 21st March the Kernow Youth League held a CPD event at Hayle football for all coaches to gain a better insight to the world of goalkeeping.
The event was put on by the league with Kernow Keepers providing the content and some up and coming young goalkeepers. 25 coaches attended the event and listened to a presentation by Martyn before heading on to the pitch and watching Lee & Martyn carry out some practical demos, before finishing with a Q&A session.
Kernow Youth Festival
On Sunday 18th March over 100 local children took part in the Kernow Youth festival which was held at Hayle football club.
The league try and regularly run the youth festivals for the U7, U8 & U9 age groups, which allow lots of mini friendly fixtures in a round robin style. Upon completion of the fixtures, all players were presented with a Kernow Youth Festival wristband to show their involvement within the festival. The U9's fixtures were cut short due to the snow that had started to blow into the facilities and with safety in mind, the decision to end early proved to be the correct one.
All of the children who took part in the festival enjoyed the event and all were a credit to their clubs.
League support young referee
At our recent league committee meeting, the league agreed to provide a donation to Matthew Carney for his upcoming trip to the USA. Matt, who is a local level 4 referee, has been given the opportunity to be one of the officials at the upcoming Dallas Cup tournament.
Matt has steady moved up the levels over the past few seasons and has, on many occasions, assisted the Kernow Youth League at cup finals and mini festivals. He has taken charge of games within the league this season as well as all of the appointed games provided by the CCFA within the senior league.
Everyone involved within the league wishes Matt all of the best with his fundraising as well as his tour.
First finals of 2018 held at Hayle FC
On Sunday 28th Jan 2018, the Kernow Youth League held the trophy event finals for our U10 & U11 age groups. With the two pitches layout out in Hayle FC's new 4G pitch, both games in each age group were able to take place at the same time.
